my baby

just in time for finals. :D

Monday, December 12, 2011

today i:

- woke up at 9 am, which is way off my usual routine, and felt oh-so good.

- breakfasted on a homemade banana muffin topped off with Nutella hazelnut spread

- did a refreshing Pilates workout my the basement

- straightened my hair... also an odd thing for me (dad hates my hair straight. he thinks it makes me look older, which makes him feel older. i'm not getting that connection?)

- played with my little sister "hey!! left foot? what do you do? oh... i guess he not gonna answer." (i love my girly!)

- took an AP Bio test (neurons, sodium and potassium ions, somatic motor nervous system, non-ciliated ependymal cells), and completed a lab

- laughed at this picture aboo drew on her dry-erase board:
it says "bays antill crismes" (days until christmas). i love her enthusiasm annnnd her spelling.

- texted good friends about random things

- cleaned my room, freshened my desk

- checked up on blogs, liked things on etsy, subscribed to Elise Blaha :: enJOY it, which apparently i had somehow gotten unsubscribed from in the past year. (great blog, check her out!)

- made yummy French bread pizza for all of my younger siblings while my parents went out.

- babysat for a family in my church ("where's my llama book? i neeeed my llama book to go to sleeeep!" and "ok, i'm going to make popsicles in bed, in my microwave.")

all instead of prepping for finals. they're inevitable, but somehow i continue finding more wonderful reasons for putting of my study time. THURSDAY, DIE.

priceless

yesterday i was studying in the mc library.
and there was this larger guy fast asleep on a couch.
and he was sucking his thumb.

i. died.
i was trying so hard not to laugh, i snorted.

and it made my day so much better.

deep creek lake

last week i went to deep creek, up in western maryland. :)
uncle tom, aunt julie, jojo and i drove up sunday afternoon, and stayed until saturday.

pretty much we just hung out, ate food, watched movies, read books.
one day we went on a hike at swallow falls, and we tanned on the beach three or four of the days.
it was really relaxing and fun. oh good memories. :)

here are the pictures we took!
this was a sign out front of a church there.
we were driving past and had to stop and get a picture. :) hahaha!

henna tattoos, just because we're that cool.
i might get his one for real some day. :)

shoppinggg! :D
 so stylish.

haha!

we are cave explorers!!! or... something.
i like the lady's blurred head behind us. :)

ee-sun-ee-gass-es.

on thursday uncle tom took jojo and i to swallow falls.
we hiked the trail and splashed around in the water a little.

there was a giant waterfall, with no guardrails or caution signs or ropes or anything.
i kinda had to lean over the edge a little :)

the rocks were kind of too slippery :) we chickened out...

beachhh :)

putt-putting on fridayyy :) haha, i came in 3rd... out of 4.
so not too bad i guess?
haha, i think mini-golf is always very entertaining :)

 i love me some jojo.
except that she is more photogenic than me.
but i forgive her :)

ohhh so much fun :) it was a really cool, relaxing vacation...
so glad we could go and get a tan! which was the whole point :) haha.

thanks soo muchhh for letting me tag along on your vacation you guys!
loves!!

today.

it looks like sony wonder outside.
you know, back in the old days watching sesame street and that little sun would come out surrounded by white, fluffy clouds, and then the banner would float across followed by piano music?
wow, brings back memories.

online dating service.

my father walked into the room where i was listening to grooveshark.
there was an ad on the side for some sort of muscle-building pill or other,
with a picture of some freakishly photoshopped, huge, creepy guy.
dad looks concerned and asks,
"hey hannah, why is that guy trying to g-chat you?"
hahahaha... we need to teach daddy some technology interpretation skills.
:)

mr. stogsdill:

walks into the classroom, throws a box of tissues on the table, yells "you're going to need those!" and proceeds to hand out our graded papers and projects.
hahahaha!! i love him... SUCH a military guy!

t_swift [update...]

ahhh... ok, i'm reluctant enough to say...
she actually has more than one ok song.

i still "officially" dislike her.
but some of her songs are goo-goooo-gooooo... ood.
i didn't say they were good though,
in case anyone was wondering.
pros:
- cool harmonies
- (sometimes) lyrics
cons:
- repetition
- mushy-gushy-ness
- guy hating
- umm. just the fact that so many people like her.
i'd lie
never grow up
enchanted
mean
you belong with me
sometimesss. i just can't believe myself.

flipflops.

i love the way they sound. youknow. "flip-flop, flip-flop." they SOUND summery.

during the summer, i wear them ev.err.ee.where. and i wear them as far into the fall as i possibly can. which is until about november. and then i start wearing them again in february. that way in my mind there is only a two month gap between summers. it works, i'm tellin' yah.

and they bring warm weather faster. wear them, and it shows the sun how much you love him. which boosts his self-esteem mucho. and he shines down on you. hhhhaaaaaaaaaa. ok, wow. i'm weird.

my dad has some sort of a grudge against them... like seriously. he doesn't like it when his children wear them. he thinks they are bad for your arches, and they'll give you back problems. whaaaat? maybe he is right, but ummm. iliiiikethem. sorry daddy, i still love youuu.

i have three or maybe four pairs. and most of them are falling apart. i needs gets me some more. yessss pleasse.

:) and that's my thoughts on flipflops, folks!

taylor swift

for the past several years, i have vowed to despise taylor swift's music.
i don't know why. maybe just because people say i look like her.
or because she's a country singer and i hate* country music.

[*clarification: when i think of country music...
i think of the songs you hear on the radio
about some guy and how much he loves his pickup truck.
he's upset and tears well up in his eyes.
wailing, his voice breaks mid-verse, but he doesn't care.
chorus: he sings about a girl or how he wants to go home to mississippi.
he drinks some coffee and feels better.
he sees a butterfly and there's a gentle breeze in the trees.
happy song ending with guitar solo.
is so dumb and pointless...]

but... i actually have begun to like one of taylor swift's songs.
and i actually went home and listened to it... several times!

i have not dared yet to listen to any of her other songs,
because maybe then i will like them too.
and if i like more than one of her songs,
then it will be said that i actually like her.

now do you see the dilemma i am in?
my previous prejudiced thinking has been turned upside down!
i was comfortable in my little blindly hating bubble.
but it has burst it into a million pieces! oh dear.

whatever am i going to do?
shall i listen to another song in the hope that i will hate it?
i do not dare to take that chance.
because if i do like it... then i will like it!

2010 [mrch.aprl]

up next on the recap of '10: marchy and apryy.

aaaahckkkk!!!
i love the smells and colors and breezes of spring after the dull, gray skies of winter.

easter.
this is pretty much the story of our lives,
so i'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
HAAAAAAHAAAAAHAAAA!

also in april, we went up to the probe's farm in mount airy.
shooting guns, flying around on four-wheelers and dirt bikes...
pretty much my kinda life.
HA! that's a joke.
if you've yet to hear the story involving my first time on a dirt bike... ask to hear it. you will not be disappointed. i promise you.
funfun with the adameks, tvardziks, laymans, brewers, and cooks... :)

beks turned thirteen! :)
happy first official teenager birthday! :)
next year we'll be going to the youth retreat together.
my last and her first.
i cannot wait. words cannot describe.
but maybe this can: (!!!)

we went to old town alexandria...
everything was awesome and old.
now just look at the pictures.
cobblestone road.
retro bus.stairs.
red door.
ducks! ha!
it was a lot of fun.
alexandria is an town in virginia, just outside d.c.
it was the perfect family day trip...
many, many memories that will not fit in this space.

may comin' up tomorrow. :)
