C.H.S

"There must be no lower standard for us than the perfection of Christ. No attainment must ever satisfy us until we are conformed to his image who is the firstborn among many brethren. You will tell me I am holding up a high standard. I am; but then you have a great helper, and I will show you in a moment how you may be of good cheer concerning this business." C.H.S

fall idea #1

ok and now to admit a personal fall fail.
i know it is now autumn.
but as you can tell from my blog, i'm still hangin' on to summer with all i got.
sure, fall is fun.
cuddling with your family and a warm bowl of soup... curling up in a window seat with a good book... carving pumkins and apple cider. i know.... I LOVE IT too!

mmmm. yummy fall.
still not sure though if i can remove this amazingly summer shimmer background from my blog. it is too heartbreaking that those amazing days tanning by the beach... and fruit smoothies... and swim team practice early every morning... and flying on a tree swing in the backyard... and screaming and laughing in the sun with good friends... and canoeing in the bay... and chasing the kids i love around the playground...

IT'S OVER. :(

ok? but you what... if i find another background for my blog that i super love i'll replace it. phew. nuff said.

i LOVE this!!

have you ever thrown a fistful of glitter in the air?
have you ever looked fear in the face and said 'i just don't care'?

"Glitter in the Air" - Pink

two things i just read.

i have been so encouraged by one of my friends who has been going through a very hard time recently. a few weeks ago she posted THIS and THIS.
everything she is talking about is so deep and so true. this girl knows what she is talking about. i wanted to post this so i could look back later.

i was so encouraged by these two posts. me and brielle are very much alike. the first post is her looking back at herself three years ago and wishing she hadn't been such a perfectionist. now that she is going through a hard time she is realizing that life isn't about her. and she's honest enough to admit that before she was way too focused on school and getting good grades, etc.
now what's cool is that three years ago, she was the age that i am now. i am at the tail end of a time of depression and sickness right now. just like she is now.

the second post is just a deep, soul-felt cry to the Lord. she's not thinking that lots of people are going to come by and read this and be impressed. she is totally honesty and admits how she's feeling. and i TOTALLY know what she is talking about.

her humility and God-centeredness really blessed me in that moment.
brielle is such a great friend who never complains, but is honest enough about what she's going through to truly help other people. she really does turn to God & realizes that she can't do life on her own.

meetings

cross country meetings to be precise.
home meets.
and away ooones.
one word:
BUS RIDE!
ok two.
when we're tired.
and hyper.
and acting really crazy.
and singing mulan or waka waka.

or just talking...

"i don't know. i mean i think guys try to act tough and not show that they're emotional, but i think girls like it when guys cry!" -amy

:D

AWESOMENESS!
so many good memories!

"RUN HANNAH MAKA RUN!"
"carloooooooooooooos"
"THAT'S dumb!"
"instead of talking about the practice for half of the practice... we're actually going to do the practice"

ellie

i have been friends with this girl ever since our families moved to covenant life church at the same time. throughout the years, we have had countless trips to the beach with our families, lots of sleepovers, movie nights and study groups.

now we're on the varsity cross country team together. although we hardly ever see each other since she's so much faster. all i see of her is a blur as she runs ahead of me and then a whirlwind of dust.

ok? ok. and she's really pretty and energetic and loves everybody she ever meets. so many people love her and have been impacted by the way she loves God and serves her siblings.

but she's MY best friend. i am so blessed to know her. just the other day she posted about our friendship on her blog, and i had to post about her here.

i love you so much sister!
:)
